Bullars Appears on Retirement Panel

On April 4, Professor Mercer Bullard appeared on a panel at the University of Connecticut School of Law’s symposium: The Challenge of Retirement in a Defined Contribution World. Bullard presented a paper at the symposium, “The Social Costs of Choice, Free Market Ideology and the Large 401(k) Menu Defense”, which will be published in the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal. The article illustrates how judicial decisions based on free market principles can backfire when empirical evidence shows that the rational-actor assumptions underlying these principles are ill-founded.
