The University of Mississippi School of Law Career Services Offices helps students develop individualized career plans and provides instruction on job search skills. The staff also facilitates access to employers and employment resources.
Many factors will affect your job search, and each job search is individual. Some of the factors that impact a personal job search can be divided into three segments:
- External: the economy, the job market, employers’ hiring needs and budgets.
- Personal: individual interests, including geographic and employment interests, interview skills, professional and personal contacts and individual effort
- Professional/Academic: your academic record, professional experience, extracurricular accomplishments, community service, internships.
Given these variables, we cannot guarantee a specific job, a definite time-frame for securing employment or a particular salary. We do, however, pledge to work hard with you and on your behalf.
Please take the time to look around on this site. If you are a student, you will benefit from our Student Resources section and if you are an employer looking to hire graduates or law clerks, please view our Employer Resources.
