Civil Legal Clinic
Since its founding by Professor Deborah H. Bell almost two decades ago, the Civil Legal Clinic has transformed students into skilled lawyers by providing them the opportunity to practice law on behalf of the neediest Mississippians. Through assisting some of the half million Mississippians who cannot afford an attorney, Civil Legal Clinic students provide a critical service to our state while gaining the expertise to succeed as lawyers after graduation.
In 2009, the School of Law made a significant commitment to the Civil Legal Clinic by hiring its first clinical professor, Desiree Hensley. With the stability provided by a full-time director, the clinic is primed to build upon almost 20 years of outstanding service to Mississippi.
