Akhil Amar, Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University and author of the award-winning America’s Constitution: A Biography, will deliver the Mathews Lecture, speaking about his new book, The Law of the Land: A Grand Tour of our Constitutional Republic. The Matthews Lecture in Law series honors U.S. District Court Judge Burnita Shelton Matthews, a native of Mississippi and the first woman to serve as a U.S. federal district judge.
