Lanesha Sims

Lanesha Sims will join the faculty as a visiting assistant professor of law for the 2012-13 academic term.  She previously served as an adjunct professor of law at the university, where she taught Advanced Civil Procedure. While in law school, Ms. Sims served as an executive articles editor of the Mississippi Law Journal and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Following graduation, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Henry Lee Adams, Jr., district judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and then to the Honorable Carl E. Stewart, circuit judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She engaged in private practice with the law firms of Holland & Knight, LLC in Jacksonville, Fla., and Watkins & Eager, PLLC in Jackson, Miss. She has experience in pharmaceutical litigation, medical malpractice, class action litigation, multidistrict litigation, products liability, employment law, appellate practice and complex commercial litigation.
