LSSB Collects Items for Tornado Relief

The Law School Student Body at the University of Mississippi School of Law is collecting items for tornado victims in South Mississippi. The tornado ripped through Hattiesburg, Petal, and surrounding areas early Saturday morning, destroying homes and injuring dozens of residents.

“Being a native of Hattiesburg and seeing the damage first hand during cleanup efforts that I was able to participate in, the city of Hattiesburg and the surrounding areas need all the help they can get,” said Gregory Alston, president of LSSB. “I am excited the law school student body will be able to help the people of South Mississippi who not only lost loved ones but lost their homes this past weekend.”

Faculty, staff, students and community members who would like to help can drop off items at the Law School. There will be a basket placed in the Atrium with an LSSB sign denoting the donation drop off.

The LSSB is seeking the following items: non perishable food items, manual can openers, zip lock bags, diapers, wipes, formula, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, brushes, deodorant, shampoo, soap, cleaning supplies, paper towels, hand soap, bottled water, pet food and supplies.
