Transcripts

In addition to the requirements mentioned on the Application Process Page, the law school requires that foreign transcripts be submitted through the LSAC LL.M. Credential Assembly Service (CAS). LL.M. applicants who completed any postsecondary work outside the United States (including its territories) or Canada must use this service for the evaluation of foreign transcripts. The one exception to this requirement is if an applicant completed the foreign work through a study abroad, consortium or exchange program sponsored by a U.S. or Canadian institution and the work is clearly indicated as such on the home-campus transcript.  A foreign credential evaluation will be completed by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), which will be incorporated into the CAS report.

English Proficiency

The LL.M. program in Air and Space Law requires a high level of English proficiency. Students must be able to express critical thinking, reasoning, and logic, in both spoken and written English. They must also be able to read English with ease.

Additionally, the University of Mississippi School of Law requires Official Score Reports of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) before admitting an applicant whose primary language is not English. TOEFL and IELTS scores must be less than two years old at the time of submission.

TOEFL

The minimum score required is 100 on the TOEFL Internet-based test, or 600 on the TOEFL paper-based test.

Applicants will be required to contact the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and request that the TOEFL score be sent to LSAC.  You must supply ETS with LSAC’s institution code 8395 at the time that you place your order for a copy of the score report to be sent to LSAC. The TOEFL score will be included in the foreign credential evaluation document that will be included in the CAS report. Applicants should register for the TOEFL in time to ensure that the Official Score Report will be sent to LSAC by the application deadline.

IELTS

The minimum score required is 7.0 on the IELTS test.

If you choose to take the IELTS exam, you must request your official score report be sent electronically to LSAC, before or at the time of your exam.
