Rychlak Publishes in Gaming Journal

Prof. Ron Rychlak has published a new article:  Gambling with the Bronx Bombers: Betting on, against, and with the Yankees, 3 UNLV Gaming Law Journal 165 (2012).

The piece discusses the New York Yankees’ long association with gambling debts and gambling scandals. From the first owners (who were notorious gamblers), their first superstar (who had some involvement in the throwing of the 1919 World Series),the acquisition of Babe Ruth (which may have been due to the Red Sox owner’s need to pay off a gambling debt), right up to current players and underground poker clubs, the Yankees history reflects America’s unsettled relationship with betting and wagering on games of skill and chance.
