Ahsaki E. Baptist (JD 07) has become a partner in the regional law firm of Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs LLP. Ms. Baptist concentrates her legal practice in the areas of commercial litigation and commercial real estate and is a member of the law firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Service Team.
Brent Cole (JD 12 ) has joined the Jackson office as an associate in Baker Donelson’s Advocacy Group. Prior to attending law school, Cole worked as a commercial insurance underwriter and broker in the excess and surplus lines market.

Judge Kelly Luther (JD 89) took the oath of office in a ceremony on January 6th at the Tippah County Courthouse. Judge Luther will succeed Judge Robert W. Elliott, who served for eight years on the bench.
Jim Roberts (JD 71), Circuit Court Judge for Mississippi’s First District, was presented the 2014 Distinguished Jurist Award by Mississippi State University’s Pre-Law Society and Department of Political Science and Public Administration.
