The Law School Student Body Association will host Roberta Kaplan, partner in the litigation department at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City, for an afternoon of coffee and conversation on Monday, November 9, 2015, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the third-floor seminar room.
Ms. Kaplan successfully argued before the United States Supreme Court on behalf of her client Edith Windsor in United States v. Windsor, the landmark Supreme Court case that greatly extended legal protections to same-sex couples. Ms. Kaplan wrote Then Comes Marriage to tell the story of the case from the first meeting with her client to arguing before the Supreme Court of the United States and Beyond.
