We will need a wireless microphone for our speaker (either clip-on or a handheld). Additionally, we may need another handheld microphone for audience questions.

The Student Bar Association is hosting Ed Stanton as the first event in the 2017-2018 SBA Speaker Series. Mr. Stanton is a practicing attorney at Butler Snow in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Stanton previously served as the United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee from 2010 to 2017. Prior to his presidential appointment, he was Senior Counsel in the litigation department at FedEx from 2002 to 2010.

Mr. Stanton graduated from the University of Memphis – Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, Vice President of the Student Bar Association, and President of the Black Law Students Association, as well as a recipient of the Dean’s Outstanding Service Award.

Recently, Mr. Stanton was awarded the Best of the Bar Award in the category of Public Service by the Memphis Business Journal. He has extensive experience in criminal and civil litigation in both trial and appellate courts.

The UM Student Bar Association invites all students, faculty, and staff to this event. Food will be provided.
