Any individual interested in a legal career as a JAG should attend this information session (use the right hand entrance).
The primary focus of the session will be the Direct Appointment Program “DAP”. DAP is the process for applying for post-graduate employment as an Air Force JAG. Applications are reviewed by a board that convenes 3 times a year (April, October, and December).
The deadline for applying for the October board is 1 October. In order to apply, candidates must complete forms which are available online at http://www.jagusaf.hq.af.mil/ and interview with a local Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) at a base legal office. The interview should occur no later than 15 September. During the interview, the candidate will leave their completed forms “packet” with the SJA who will route the packet to Headquarters USAF/JAX for board consideration.
The Air Force also has a few other programs such as a 1 Year Delayed Entry Program as well as a Internship Program. General information will provided about those programs, but again the emphasis will be on DAP.
