There is an interest meeting Friday, 1/24 at 1:30 p.m. in the Weems Auditorium. If you are applying for this scholarship, I highly encourage you to come to the meeting. There is an interview process for this scholarship and some of the donors will be here to speak with you about the process on Friday.

WILLIAM W. GATES
SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION

BACKGROUND:
Established in 2003 by George F. Gates (JD, 1999), Will’s brother. Will Gates, a native of Sumner, graduated from our law school in May 2002. He began working at the Jackson office of Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes in September of that year and died tragically in a vehicle accident in Jackson in October of 2002.

The recipient is determined by a panel of family and friends of Will, with George, his older brother, taking charge of the interview program.

REQUIREMENTS:
1.    2L student currently
2.    Demonstrate strong work ethic to contribute to legal profession
3.    Embodiment of the endearing characteristics of Will Gates.

AMOUNT: Generally between $2,000 – $3,000 for the third year of law school.
