Zoom Workshop Discussion of the Pilot Project for the Inclusion of Diversity-Type Issues in Law Courses

April 8, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

The Law School’s 2020-2023 Strategic Diversity Plan for Diversity, Inclusion and Equity provides:

The Law School values classroom discussions as an important means of fostering an exchange of ideas and opinions on issues involving diversity, inclusion, equity, and cultural competence. These discussions also further the Law School’s mission of educating future attorneys who will practice law and otherwise provide legal services in a complex world that often involves complicated discussions and problem-solving around these same issues.

To further the purpose of this statement, the Law School’s Diversity Committee, in conjunction with the Associate Dean for Faculty Development, developed a Pilot Project in which several law professors specifically concentrated on incorporating more discussions regarding diversity-type issues in their classrooms. These professors are Professors Matthew R. Hall, William W. Berry, III, Antonia Eliason, Marie Cope, Charles Stotler, and Larry J. Pittman.

On Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., these professors and some of their students will participate in a Zoom discussion of their experiences in the classroom and will offer best practices for the inclusion of diversity-type issues in law courses.

We especially invite all law professors and students to attend this workshop by Zoom link.
