Cam Abel has taught as an adjunct professor of the Transactional Law Clinic since its inception in 2010. Abel practiced and clerked in his hometown of Oxford for eight years primarily in the areas of general and business litigation, family law, and white collar criminal defense before returning to the Mississippi Delta and his adopted home of Greenwood in 2012.
Abel graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law cum laude in 2006. He was a member of the Phi Delta Phi honorary legal fraternity. He has taught CLE courses in school law and intellectual property and served two years on the Mississippi Bar professionalism committee.
Abel was a Delta journalist and managing editor of The Enterprise-Tocsin in Indianola before becoming a nationally-certified teacher and a technology coordinator in the public schools in Drew for nine years. Outside of the legal field, Abel has decades of experience in theater in front and behind the scenes and has served as an officer and director of the Greenwood Little Theatre board. He has also served as chairman of the board of ArtPlace Mississippi. He is an amateur photographer and co-owner of Turnrow Gallery in Greenwood.
