UM Negotiation Team Wins Trip to National Finals

On Friday, Feb. 15, the UM Law Negotiation Board sent two teams to the Midwestern Region National Transactional Law Meet in Kansas City. According to their website, the National Transactional Law Meet is the premier moot court experience for students interested in transactional practice.

The team of Laura Elizabeth Tate, 2L and Patrick Everman, 2L won first place and an opportunity to compete for the national championship in March in Philadelphia, Pa. The team of Brad Cook, 2L and Brad Ryan, 1L placed third, rounding out an impressive showing by the Board in its first year of existence. The teams were coached by fellow Board members Brittany Sharkey, Jackie Knapp, Brad Taggart, David Haadsma and Ben Fierman, and the Board’s faculty advisor, Professor Mercer Bullard.
