Will Wilkins, visiting assistant professor and director of the Mississippi Law Research Institute, received the 2012 Legislative Award from the Uniform Law Commission for his work this year. Will is one of Mississippi’s representatives to the Uniform Law Commission, a group that drafts and disseminates uniform laws such as the Uniform Commercial Code. This year, the Mississippi Legislature enacted four uniform laws or updates to existing laws.
Will was also asked to serve on the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Uniform Commercial Code Study Group this year. He has previously served on similar study groups for the Secretary of State including the Technology and Intellectual Property Study Group, the Trademark Laws Study Group, the Nonprofit Corporations Study Group and the Trust Laws Study Group.
