Mississippi Bar Foundation Recognizes Ole Miss Law Professor

Case, professor of law and Butler, Snow, O'Mara, Stevens & Cannada Lecturer in Law, is one of only 20 fellows inducted this year.

"I have been a member of the Mississippi Bar for 38 years, and I’m extremely proud to be included on the same list with the many exceptional Mississippi lawyers and judges who are current Mississippi Bar Foundation Fellows,” Case said.

The Mississippi Bar Foundation provides assistance for law-related projects and programs to improve legal understanding and access throughout the state. The foundation funds scholarships to Mississippi’s law schools and sponsors public education programs such as the statewide high school mock trial competition.

The Fellow designation is the Foundation’s highest honor as only 10% of lawyers in Mississippi are eligible for membership. Being selected means being recognized by their peers as possessing and achieving the highest level of professionalism, competence and leadership and also for their dedication and service to the public and profession.

Case joins other law school faculty who are fellows: Guthrie T. Abbott, professor emeritus; Deborah H. Bell, professor emeritus; Samuel M. Davis, dean and professor emeritus; Don L. Fruge, professor emeritus; Clifton J. Johnson II, clinical professor; Robert C. Khayat, chancellor and professor emeritus; Robert A. Weems, professor emeritus; and Parham H. Williams, dean and professor emeritus.

“I’m especially honored to be among the Ole Miss Law faculty members that are on the current list of fellows as well as the many fellows who were students at Ole Miss Law School during the years that I was also a law student at Ole Miss (1985-88),” he said.
