  • First Seat Deposit: $250
    Due by April 1, 2025.
  • Second Seat Deposit: $250
    Due by June 1, 2025.

Both of these deposits will be credited to your student account after matriculation in mid-October. We do not give any waivers for these deposits.

Accepted applicants can pay their seat deposit online securely at the url below:

https://web21.olemiss.edu/law/forms/seat-deposit/

Step 2 - Fill out your Disclosure Form

*Please read the instructions carefully*

Step 3 - Access your WebID

As an admitted student (once you have paid your 1st seat deposit), within one week you should receive a text message with your new WebID asking you to reset your password. It’s important you remember your WebID and password! You will use your WebID to access your Ole Miss email account, see your class schedule, review your financial aid package and more. You will receive your WebID within 30 days.

Step 4 - Submit your final transcript

1. If you are not an Ole Miss student, we require one official transcript showing your undergraduate degree and the date it was awarded from your degree granting institution. This must come from your degree granting institution directly to us (not from you or from LSAC). We only receive an unofficial copy from LSAC

2. Your transcript can be submitted electronically if your institution offers the option.  Select University of Mississippi School of Law Admissions as the receiver. If sent by mail: University of MS School of Law, Law Admissions Suite 1050, 481 Chucky Mullins Dr., University, MS 38677

3. Please be mindful that your full admission to this law school is contingent upon completion of all requirements for a baccalaureate degree prior to enrolling and you will not be permitted to register until a final transcript has been received or proof of graduation is provided.

4. The deadline for providing your final transcript is July 21, 2025.

Please note, if you are graduating in August, the Registrar from your degree granting institution must certify directly with us your graduation status.

This is an optional health insurance plan available to all students with at least 9 course credit hours and their dependents. If, after a week, you have not received your WebID, please contact Allison Lewis.

Step 4 - Apply for financial aid

U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply for federal loans. Most students who are eligible for federal student loans will be able to borrow an amount sufficient to cover the cost of attendance, including tuition and living expenses, but the type of federal loan available will depend on the borrowing history of the applicant. For more information and a loan application, please contact our financial aid office at 1-800-891-4596, finaid@olemiss.edu.

Step 5 - Submit Final Law School Transcripts

  1. We require one official transcript showing your J.D. (Juris Doctor) or first law degree (LL.B. or Bachelor of Laws) degree, and the date it was awarded from your degree granting institution. This must come from your degree granting institution directly to us (not from you or from LSAC).
  2. For applicants who earned a (first) law degree outside of the USA: Transcripts must include all courses completed and grades earned as part of the law degree. If your transcripts do not indicate the date the law degree was awarded, you must also submit an official or officially certified diploma or degree-completion certificate. To be official, transcripts and degree completion certificates must indicate the issuing institution’s official and original seal, stamp, or signatures. Applicants whose transcripts are issued in a language other than English must submit certified English translations of their transcripts and degree completion certificates.
  3. Your degree granting institution must send us your official law school transcript electronically to Allison Lewis at aclewis5@olemiss.edu or physically to the address below:

Step 6 - For International Students

  1. The University of Mississippi Office of International Programs (OIP) assists international students with arrival, adjustment, and immigration advising. The OIP website provides information on many topics that would be helpful for incoming international students, including:
    • Explanation of Visa categories sponsored by the University of Mississippi
    • Obtaining a Visa stamp for entry to the United States
    • Arriving in the United States
    • Traveling as a current student/scholar
    • Transportation options to/from the Oxford area
    • Obtaining a Mississippi Driver's License
  2. Currently, the OIP is working with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Student and Exchange Visitor Program, to obtain DHS certification in order to be authorized to issue 1-20 forms to those admitted to the newly established LL.M. program.  The I-20 is a necessary document for those who will be applying at a U.S. consulate/embassy for an F-1 student visa for use in entering the U.S.  Most nonimmigrant students will require F-1 status, however, some students (primarily those who will receive funding for the LL.M. program from a source other than personal or family funds) may be eligible for the J-1 student category.  OIP will assist in determining the appropriate visa category for admitted students.
  3. In addition to the health insurance coverage stated in Step 6 above, some international students are required to submit an Affidavit of Financial Support.  This is required for those international students intending to hold F-1 or J-1 visa status only. Please see the Office of International Programs, Financial Matters page, for more information on a broad range of financial topics, from cost of study at UM, tax information, Social Security, and banking.
  4. There are exceptions to the rule so every international student must contact the OIP to determine international student visa requirements. Please contact:Jean Robinson
    Office of International Programs
    Assistant Director
    jcrobins@olemiss.edu
    (662) 915-7404

Most of our law students live off campus. A variety of options are available within walking, driving or shuttle distance to campus.

For more information on various apartment complexes, here are several helpful links:

Some apartment complexes offer shuttle transportation to/from campus to its residents, complimentary or at extra cost. The City of Oxford and The University jointly offer O.U.T. (Oxford University Transit), currently free of charge to students. More information on O.U.T. is available at Oxford University Transit.

In addition to the information above, we recommend that you also peruse the information available to you via our Student Housing website before finalizing your off-campus accommodations.

Step 8 - Online Classroom Needs
