The Trial Advocacy Board is pleased to announce our Spring 1L and 2L Transfer Tryout Competition. The competition is open to all current 1Ls and 2L transfer students. Importantly, the spring competition is the only way to gain membership on the board. If you are even slightly interested in membership, I encourage you to at least attend an informational meeting.

The competition will be a week-long tryout process consisting of preliminary rounds, semi-final rounds, and a final round. All competitors must prepare an opening statement, an abridged direct examination, and a cross-examination. The top six competitors will advance to the final round and will also have to prepare a closing argument with an executive board member mentor. The specifics of these requirements will be explained in detail at the informational meetings listed below. You are required to attend only one of the two scheduled informational meetings.

February 23: 12:45 – 1:15 in Moot Court I
February 28: 12:45 – 1:15 in Moot Court I

Competition Dates:
March 7 – March 8: Preliminary Rounds
March 9: Semi-Finals
March 10: Invitations for membership sent out and announcement of top six competitors advancing the the Final Round
March 11: Final Round

The rounds will be staggered through the evenings in order to accommodate everyone’s class schedules.
