City of Spies Meets the City of Oxford

October 10, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Is the Nation’s Capital also the World Capital of Espionage? Washington, DC is home to an alphabet soup of federal intelligence agencies: the CIA and DIA, NSA and NRO, INR and FBI and several more. Did you know that NRO works with satellites and INR analyzes intel for the State Department? The U.S. Government is a prime espionage target for international foes and friends.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the University of Mississippi are bringing Washington, DC to Oxford, Mississippi. Here’s your chance to learn more about the Intelligence Community (18 federal agencies) and possibly follow in the footsteps of our Nation’s first President and first spymaster, George Washington, who skillfully managed covert operations to outfox the British and win the Revolutionary War.

Join us on October 10th at Weems Auditorium on the campus of the University of Mississippi from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm for a fireside chat with Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence; Trent Kelly, U.S. Representative; and Dr. Shaio Zerba, Director for the Center for Intelligence and Security Studies at the University of Mississippi.

Enjoy a crash-course on the Intelligence Community and our Centers of Academic Excellence. Did you know that the Intelligence Community Centers of Academic Excellence seek to prepare and hire the next generation of intelligence officers and there are over 80 colleges and universities that are deemed Intelligence Community Centers of Excellence? Hear from your peers, Intelligence Community Scholars studying at the University of Mississippi’s Center for Intelligence and Security Studies in Oxford, MS about their participation in this year’s National Security Analysis and Intelligence Summer Seminar held in Washington, DC with students from across the Nation.

End the day by attending a career fair with recruiters from our federal intelligence agencies. Before the event, check out the Intelligence Community at https://www.intelligencecareers.gov/ so you can proactively discuss career opportunities with agency recruiters.
