The Half-Life of Freedom: Race and Justice in America Today

Jelani Cobb will speak virtually as part of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture’s fall program “Voting Rights and Community Activism.” Jelani Cobb is a professor at Columbia University’s Journalism School and has contributed to The New Yorker since 2012. He is the author of several works including “The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress.” The event is co-sponsored by UM School of Law.
