Join Professor Olack for the sixth installment in his series: “Employer Expectations & the Business of a Law Firm”. He will discuss:
Billable hours—and how the realization rate works
Time management—how you can meet your billable hours requirements
Learn about the evaluation process and criteria for associates
Neil P. Olack, a retired federal judge, will offer a series of six(6) discussions on how to prepare yourself for a successful hiring process. He is teaching the introductory bankruptcy class this fall and taught the business bankruptcy class last spring. He joins the adjunct faculty after serving for fifteen(15) years as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and retiring on July 1, 2021. Prior to serving on the federal bench, Professor Olack practiced law for twenty-five years(25) in Jackson, Mississippi, and Atlanta, Georgia with firms of 75, 2,400, and 700 total lawyers. He was a hiring partner and a member of a committee responsible for hiring lateral partners. During his forty(40) year career, he has reviewed thousands of resumes and conducted hundreds of interviews. Professor Olack is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and the Mississippi Bar Foundation. His goal for these six(6) sessions is to use his experiences for the benefit the Ole Miss law students in obtaining employment.
