UM Law Study Breaks Hosted by Law Firms

Representatives from Bradley Arant sponsored an exam study break during finals. L to R: Clarence Webster (B.A. 2002), Alicia Netterville (JD 2015), Karen Peairs, Mary Clay Morgan (JD 2003), and Michael Williams (JD 2013).

For law students, the two-week period of final exams is one of the most stressful times during the semester. The Office of Career Services helps ease that stress by hosting Exam Study Breaks. This semester, four law firms sponsored study breaks, providing lunch for the students between exam periods.

“It’s an important service the firms do because by the end of the semester, there are a lot of students telling us they haven’t stopped to eat, or haven’t had a chance to go to the grocery store,” said Karen Peairs, assistant director of career services. “It was just wonderful to have this put on by the firms, and they students really appreciated it.”

The four firms that participated this year are: Maron Marvel, Forman Watkins, Davis & Crump, and Bradley Arant. Each firm also sent representatives to visit with the law students. This is the fourth term that law firms have provided Exam Study Breaks for students.
