OXFORD, Miss. – The School of Law collaborated with the School of Pharmacy to host an education symposium October 5 on An Interprofessional Approach to the Opioid Crisis in Mississippi.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of Mississippi Student Union Ballroom, located on the 3rd floor of the Student Union. The day will include a Mock Trial before Magistrate Judge Roy Percy and a Keynote Speech from Mississippi’s Attorney General Jim Hood. All law students are invited.
The goal is for both professional schools to offer an understanding of how different professions are navigating the opioid crisis and making professional decisions related to pain management. This day should be especially of interest to all students interested in health-related law or criminal law. However, this is a widespread issue across the country and students interested in any area of practice will benefit from the day’s discussion in addressing a topic that greatly impacts the state of Mississippi and the nation.
