Will Wilkins is the director of the Mississippi Law Research Institute at the University of Mississippi School of Law. MLRI provides legal research to Mississippi’s public sector. As part of his role with MLRI, Wilkins assists the Mississippi public universities by providing timely legal research and information in the area of intellectual property. He teaches copyright and other intellectual property classes at the Law School.
From 2014-2016, Wilkins was also the Interim Director of the Mississippi Judicial College at the University of Mississippi. Outside the Law School, he has served twice as the chair of the Mississippi Bar’s Intellectual Property Section and frequently speaks on intellectual property law throughout the state and nationally.
Prior to coming to Ole Miss in 2000, Wilkins was a partner in the Jackson, Mississippi law firm Kirkland & Barfield.
He received his B.A. from Sewanee in 1988 and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi, School of Law in 1991 where he served as the Symposium Editor for the University of Mississippi Law Review.
